Delivering the cloud experience

Delivering the cloud experience

As always, you want to be at the forefront with your organization and work on innovation every day. IT can make an important contribution to this, but the reality is that in most cases up to 80 percent of the IT budget is spent keeping existing IT up and running. That is why more and more companies are looking to the cloud to streamline work processes and IT infrastructure, so you’re your own IT people get more time to focus on innovation.

In most cases, the focus is on the public cloud. During the last years only about 30% of workloads have been move to the public cloud and 70% is still inside client datacenters. And know for sure, many applications and data will not be moved to the public cloud. But you do want to move to cloud, accelerate digital transformation, get pay per use, agility and that cloud experience. This is where the combination of Public and Private Cloud comes in.

Advantages of the public cloud are:

No capital investments
There’s no need to purchase equipment or the space to house it. Public cloud plan s cost little to set up, and you only pay for the resources you use.

Time savings
The service provider is responsible for the management and maintenance of the data centers where data is stored.

Pay-as-you-use pricing
It is not necessary to have capacity in house “on growth”, which then remains largely unused. If you need more capacity, you can easily scale up and if you need less, you can scale down again. Do know, that to get better pricing, you will need to make 1, 2 or 3 years commitments.

Improved Security
Cloud providers have teams that are aware of the latest security knowledge. They also use the latest and best data protection tools.

Company policies may require that some data must be stored in Europe or even specifically in the Netherlands. Companies therefore usually do not limit themselves to one cloud provider, whereby the desire to prevent a vendor lock-in naturally plays a part.

The challenge: keeping an overview of different clouds (vertical cloud silos)

Many of us will use different public clouds and will face the challenge of keeping an overview AND accelerate time to innovation at the right pace. The best way to achieve this is to use an integrated management platform with a central dashboard. This provides a visual answer to questions such as:

  • How do the different environments perform within my service levels?
  • How do I keep a grip on costs and ensure the optimal mix?
  • Is my business continuity guaranteed?
  • Where is my data and how do I manage it over the multicloud?
  • How do I protect my data across clouds?

Such a hybrid multi cloud platform forms, as it were, a layer over vertical cloud silos so that they feel as one again: a hybrid cloud platform that serves apps and data everywhere, so you can get that cloud experience, provide uniform hybrid cloud data management, benefit from the best of public cloud and the best of private cloud.

There is more to the transition to the public cloud: how will you organize the operational management? You can do it yourself, of course, but you can also leave this to a service provider so you can spend your time on your business priorities to make strategic progress.

The Hybrid Cloud Platform from BPSOLUTIONS combines Private and Public Cloud

An integrated platform for monitoring and management is a way to keep an overview of multiple clouds. Such a platform helps proactively deal with disruptions.

Managementplatform:
The management platform dashboard shows how services and resources perform and where data is located. BPSOLUTIONS offers an easy-to-use, powerful platform to proactively improve the performance of your public cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and IBM Cloud while integrating a Private Cloud Platform to serve workloads that do not benefit from Public Cloud or just cannot be migrated. By gaining insight in historical performance trends and correlation analysis reports, you will be able to find the cause of any problems faster and manage capacity better.

24/7 pro-active management
Another advantage is that proactive management is possible, so that your infrastructure performs optimally. You will not be faced with unexpected costs. Advanced analyzes identify problems before they actually occur. Administrators receive a prioritized list of situations to review and resolve.

Cloud orchestration
A management platform also offers opportunities for cloud orchestration. Developers who work with RedHat OpenShift or VMware Tanzu with Kubenetes, for example, automatically place containers containing parts of applications in the cloud that currently offers the best available space. In this way they efficiently handle storage and server capacity. This layer also allows organizations to let apps work together where necessary and to add other functionality from the cloud more easily.

Compliancy
By adding cloud data management, you also ensure that your data is always properly protected. You store data in the cloud that meets your security requirements. Backup and recovery processes also run automatically and uniformly across clouds, whether data is internal, in the public or private cloud.

BPSOLUTIONS offers public cloud infrastructure solutions build on IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. On top of we offer extensive monitoring and support services for Public & Hybrid Cloud.
