ForFarmers SAP-ECC platform migration to make it future proof

ForFarmers, an internationally operating feed company that offers complete feed solutions for (organic) livestock farming, has been a customer of BPSOLUTIONS in the field of housing, hosting their SAP-ECC environment for several years.

In mid-2019, ForFarmers asked to direct a challenging project to replace their current SAP ECC server platform, including a physical data center move. The platform is based on the IBM i operating system and IBM Power Systems.

Go-Live weekend

The actual move took place in the weekend of December 7 and 8, 2019. In collaboration with our partner newITera and of course the IT and business of ForFarmers, we have successfully completed this operation in a reasonably limited off-line window of 18 hours .

A job done!

The ForFarmers organization was informed via a newsletter that stated:

A multidisciplinary IT team from ForFarmers moved the entire SAP ECC and SAP TMS environment from our production locations on the continent to a new server in our data center in Woerden last weekend. job. The team has been preparing for several months and after the last extensive testing we are now running on a new, modern server.

Make it future proof

“…..Technically we are making a big leap forward with this server; it provides more capacity, is scalable and will help us make the necessary performance improvements. This allows us to guarantee the continuity and stability of SAP for the coming years. ”.
